Balsa MegaShark RC Airplane

Standard Kit

  • All laser cut balsa parts and plywood motor mount
  • 2 push rod wires for ailerons + 1 Pushrod & Pushrod tube for elevator
  • 1 Micro control horn + 2 Plywood Control horns for ailerons
  • 1 Carbon fiber tube and 6 flat spars for Main wing
  • 12 small CA hinges
  • No assembly manual exists for this kit. Please refer to the Speedshark assembly manual for guidance (and rcgroups thread) as it is almost the same thing but larger with the exception of a few changes: (1) Main wing carbon spars: Three 5mm x1mm flat carbon spars tripled up in the front and three 3mm x 1mm flat carbon spars tripled up in the back instead of 1 pc each as in the Speedshark. (2) Embedded carbon flat spar 3mm x 1mm toward trailing edge on bottom sheet of main wing. (3) Highly recommended to use fiberglass to strengthen and add rigidity to the wing tips and ailerons to prevent highspeed flutter. See picture on RC groups: (post #83} and (post #138), also for a differnt method (post #201). (4) Two different options for amount of sweep curve at wing tips
  • Here (post #523) are some other build pictures from a customer on rcgroups that show some of these things like the tripled up carbon spars.
